My understanding about the model prayer is that we are do these things: 1. Pray to our Heavenly father. 2. Seek His will. 3. Ask our father to meet our daily needs. 4. Ask for forgiveness and forgive those who have done wrong to us. 5. Ask for protection. 6. Glorify God.

Jesus gave us a model about how we should pray in Matthew 6:9-13 "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."
