A Dear Friend Of Mine Nancy Olson, mother to her wonderful daughter Angelica "Angel" wrote this song for her father who was ill at the time. Nancy, who was once married to my pal Walter Winn ( now deceased ) was first introduced to me by Walter saying "you have to hear my wife sing"!! Sadly, that was many years ago since Walter left us and I've never had the chance again to hear Nancy sing!! Then a few years back we re-connected through the help of my buddy Tony's brother Barry Campbell, and Walters beloved sister Kari!! Since then we have enjoyed a friendship that has brought us all closer. Finally - on the day before I was to leave Wisconsin for my home in LA, my family decided to have a dinner and invited several of our friends & family. After a wonderful dinner (cooked by our Step Mother Kathleen "Thank you") Nancy performed this song for us!! Wow - I've heard a lot of singers, as well some incredible songs in my lifetime and this lady touched all our hearts!! The next day on the way to the airport Tony and I stopped by her home and asked her to sing this song again, she had not expected this, but obliged us graciously!! Although Nancy has written other compositions - this remains the only song I've heard to date. As we were leaving she said "I'd like to sing a song with you someday" " I'll use my other voice"!! Ya - right --------- I'm not done dealing with this one yet - hello!! Anyway, I apologize for the recording, perhaps soon I'll get a new camera and we'll try this again. In any case - in my opinion - she and this song are both amazing!!
