Also issued on 12" on RCA/Current 15334. Taken from the limited edition EP on RCA/Current KXL1-9003 (1985). Parachute Club was formed 1982 in Toronto from the remnants of Mama Quilla II. That group had been together since 1977 as an all-female ensemble which featured Lorraine Segato (guitar, vocals) and Lauri Conger (keyboards, vocals). Members of Mama Quilla II were asked to organize a group for the 1982 Toronto Festival of Festivals. Some group members were unavailable, so the remaining personnel recruited several local musicians to help out, and Parachute Club was born. The new members were Dave Gray (guitar), Steve Webster (bass), Margo Davidson (sax, vocals), Julie Masi (percussion, vocals), and Billy Bryans (drums). They were signed to Current Records in 1983. Their debut album was produced by Daniel Lanois, as was the one EP by Mama Quilla II. "Rise Up," the lead single from their first LP, won a Juno for Single Of The Year in 1983. Bassist Steve Webster left the group to play with Billy Idol, and was replaced by Keir Brownstone for the 1984 album, "At The Feet Of The Moon." The single of the same name entered the RPM 100 on October 16, 1984 at #94 with a bullet, and reached #11 on February 2, 1985. Later in 1985, a special limited-edition EP of dance remixes of the most popular Parachute Club tracks was released, under the title "Moving Thru The Moonlight." It contained five tracks in extended remixes by five different producers, which had been previously issued on 12" singles. I believe that there are a number of digital errors in this track at the beginning, where the band comes in following the vocal intro. It sounds like digital skipping. I can't imagine that someone *wanted* it to sound like that. The beats don't match up, or count out to 4/4 measures. But that's the only way it was released, at least on this album. I have never seen a copy of the original 12" to compare it. Edited to add: I'm sorry to say that the file is corrupted at about 1:08 in. A small section is missing from the audio portion. I can't replace the audio track; I could only delete and repost the video, losing the view count and ratings in the process. My apologies.
