CHAPTER 26 recap: jake: wait- do you regret what happened in the room??! sallie: jake… I had to tell him how I really felt, but did I really know how I felt?? did I want to be his girl friend or best friend?? part of me was saying "you know you want to be his girlfriend- that kiss was magical." but the other part of me was saying "no you just want to be his best friend again- you don't want to date him." I had no clue what to do. jake: umm… sallie?? sallie: oh sorry jake: okay… so do you regret what happened?? sallie: jake… I don't regret it jake: okay then- do you want to be my girlfriend?? wait- what??! did he just say that?! ugh this is toooo complicated. what am I suppose to say?! yes… no??! sallie: uhm… jake… I really think we should take things slow. I mean this is the first time I've seen you in 2 years. jake: [sad] yeah I know, but the room and- sallie: I know jake, but im really not trying to hurt you. jake: I know that sal sallie: okay good. maybe we can try this whole "boyfriend/girlfriend" thing in a couple weeks?? jake: [still sad] yeah okay that sounds good. bye [gets out of the booth and walks away] sallie: [while he's walking away] ugh that didn't go well… [yeah I know its short, but the next one should be longer…]
