Pooja entered the house to find it bustling with activity, contrary to her belief of how a family on tour must be sleeping all day out of exhaustion. Their liveliness was very infectious. She found herself hoping to come here everyday! Joe: Mom! Im home! Mrs. Jonas: Oh I see you brought company Joe. Hello Dear! Whats your name? Pooja: Good Morning! Im Pooja. Im really really honored to be finally meeting you Mrs. Jonas! Good Morning Mr. Jonas! Mr. Jonas: Good Morning dear! You must join us for breakfast! Please make yourself at home! Pooja: Im so sorry to be barging in like this. I told Joe but- Mrs. Jonas: Its alright honey. No problem. I hope you like pancakes. Well be leaving for the concert in a couple of hours so I didnt make much of a variety. Breakfast will be ready in ½ an hour kids! Pooja: Pancakes are great Mrs. Jonas! I love them! Oh yes! The concert! All the best to you Joe! Hey wheres Kev- Joe: Yea mom! Come on! Ill introduce you to my bros! Theyre practicing in the studio Pooja: You have a studio in your house?! Cool!! Joe: Hey Kevin, Nick, Frankie! I gotta introduce you to someone. This is my friend, Pooja. Shes from India! Pooja: Hey guys!! Its great to finally see you all!!!! I love your music!! Kevin, Nick: Hi! Thank you so much!! Frankie: HI! Hey Joe is she your new- Joe: FRANKIE, I JUST REMEMBERED! MOM was just calling for you Frankie: Whatever you say Joe(sniggering) (as Frankie walks past Joe, he whispers to Joe- atleast this one is not hidden by her make-up!. He runs away laughing just as Joe looked like he was about t murder Frankie.) (Unfortunately for Pooja, who was as inept at handling such awkward situations as a rhino was at scratching its back, she was standing just close enough to hear what Frankie had whispered) Pooja: (looking at down at Joes shoes) uhnice shoes joe. (as soon as she said this she felt like banging her head on the wall!) Joe: Thanks! (very proudly) Kevin: (chuckling at both their stupidity) So Pooja, how long is your vacation? Pooja: (recovering at the mention of vacation) wha-? Uh? No no! Im here to do my MBA. Im in the University of California. Nick: wow! Thats awesome! Its a real good college! You must have put in a lot of hard work huh! Pooja: um..yea a little lots..(proud, humbled & feeling stupid at the last thing she said, all at once! It confused her.) Poojas sensible, mature side: (what in the world is wrong with me?! Im behaving like a stupid love struck teenager!! Snap out of it!!) Kevin: So, tell up about your country! Weve never been to Asia. Are food really very spicy there?? Pooja: hahaha!! (she sits there squabbling about her beloved country for full 10 minutes!) Joe: wow!! U really love your country huh!!! So how come u here? Pooja: To use the so-called advanced American tactics to help my country. Nick: whoa! U r cheeky!! Lol! Just kiddin (Just then Kevins cell phone rings and his expression goes grim as soon as he recognizes the number.) Kevin: excuse me guys. I gotta take this. (He goes out to his room) Mrs. Jonas: Kids!! Breakfast is ready! Joe, Nick: Yea mom! All except Kevin, sat and had breakfast, cheerfully chatting away about general and vague stuff. Pooja had not had such a carefree and fun breakfast for a long while now. She felt her talkative, fun, cheery part that had been subdued by all the maturity that was expected of her, being in 20s and the elder sister, showing itself a bit. She took leave politely and walked back to her room feeling more uplifted and happy than ever. 2 hours later as her sons went into their own rooms to pack up, Mrs. Jonas caught a glimpse of their beautiful park. She got lost at the beauty of the sunrays coating the soft green grass with soft glow of gold and began thinking of that days breakfast. Mrs. Jonas: (sighh) Im glad Joe brought that Indian girl along for breakfast. I havent seen him smile like that for a while now. God! I hope she doesnt turn out like Amber She does a silent prayer for the general happiness of her family and leaves to help her family get ready to leave for the concert. -------------------------------------- Who is this Amber?
