2008 ING Direct Ride Now - Washington DC

Back

On Sunday, August 10, 2008, more than 150 participants turned out for a beautiful day of riding through Northern Virginia for the 2nd Annual ING DIRECT Ride Now Washington DC event. Participants raised more than $11,000 for autism research and awareness. Riders gathered Patriot Harley Davidson in Fairfax, VA where they headed out for a cool, August day of riding throughout DC that included a stop at the Marine Museum was a beautiful day for a ride! The ING DIRECT Ride Now Washington DC kicked off and bikers from all over the DC and Northern Virgina area rode to show their support of Autism Speaks. Riders displayed signs, bandanas, pins, and shirts throughout the 2 hour ride, letting all those around know the reason why this ride was taking place. As riders pulled into American Legion Post 177 for an after arty that included an appearance by the famed Redskins Hoggettes, live music, food, and raffle prizes, they were greeted by proud volunteers and ING DIRECT sponsor representative, Bob George, who thanked the crowd for showing their support by raising money for Autism Speaks and reminded us all why we were there.
